JAMES THOMASHOWER
James Thomashower has served the AGO as Executive Director since January 1998, after leading and managing other voluntary associations for more than 15 years. At the AGO, Mr. Thomashower is responsible for overseeing the Guild’s $2 million national budget and managing a staff of nine. He has successfully arranged for the publication of the first national membership directory in 50 years; added several new revenue producing programs to the Guild’s portfolio; and strengthened the Guild’s development programs by identifying and helping to cultivate new donors. In addition to his work with the Guild, Mr. Thomashower currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Music Council, a federation of several dozen national, not-for-profit music organizations, including MENC, MTNA, ASCAP, and BMI.
