Poughkeepsie is located about midway between Albany and New York City on the eastern bank of the Hudson River, and is accessible by car, train, or air. Detailed travel information is provided on the Grand Hotel’s web site at www.pokgrand.com. For those wishing to drive, the Grand Hotel is barely a mile from the Mid-Hudson Bridge and can be reached from the New York State Thruway, the Taconic State Parkway, or I-84. The Poughkeepsie Railroad Station, only a few blocks from the Grand Hotel, is served by both Amtrak and Metro-North. The Grand Hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to and from the railroad station with advance notice. Air travelers can reach Poughkeepsie through Stewart International Airport, only twenty miles away at the crossroads of I-87 & I-84 in Newburgh. Transportation from the Airport to the Grand Hotel is provided by All Transportation Network. Pilots of private aircraft may make arrangements with the Dutchess County Airport, which is served by the Grand Hotel’s complimentary shuttle service.
